Frye / Wiles Blog Archive for the ‘Office Nonsense’ Category
On one of the many SEO Blogs that I follow, this image of some hacked code was displayed. Seriously this is one of the funniest hack jobs I’ve seen yet. And incase you are wondering why I’m reading a Greyhat Blog, Reading these blogs, (this one in particular) is what helped us Identify a negative SEO attack on one of our clients this last month. So read on!
Being a small business in downtown Riverside has it’s up’s and downs. The up’s are pretty obvious; you’re close to just about everything and you have first hand knowledge about all the happenings within the community. One downside, at least for the purpose of this blog post, is the constant and persistent interruptions of your business by solicitors. The Frye / Wiles headquarters is located on the second floor of a very old building with no elevator. We have a very clear ‘NO SOLICITATION’ sign on the main office door.
Had an awesome error pop up today in Coda. This even beats the Technicolor illustrator CS2 errors.
Good old G4, hang in there!
So George W. Bush has decided that what our sluggish economy really needs is for nearly everyone to get thrown a couple monetary bones to spend on ‘stuff’. This is intended to drive our economy as people are encouraged to go out and spend the $300 or $600 or whatever it is, on commercial products you don’t need. In honor of the bountiful sum that most of us are about to receive, I’ve listed 7 items that you, the mid to late-twenties male such as myself, might be tempted to blow all your hard earned government monies on, but shouldn’t.
So I’ve been hesitating towards this whole Blog thing because I didn’t know what to blog about. Nate mentioned I can blog about anything so I said to myself what do I like to do most. I like to listen to music. Especially the music I grew up with. It all started when I was 12 or 13 circa 1987, and yes I am an old man, but let me tell you I sure don’t act like it. I’m not sure if that’s a good thing or a bad thing yet. Anyhow…I remember stumbling upon my sister’s tape of New Order’s Brotherhood. I believe this was the catalyst that started the whole damn thing. From then on it was all about New Order. My first CD I bought myself was Technique and this is when CD’s came in the long cardboard cases of yesteryear. They make awesome art work for collages by the way. (more…)
Okay. so Its my birthday. I made kick ass brownies that no one but me could eat due to their nut content. Party time right? As I rolled home with my evening planned out, a party by myself with an xbox and possible web coding later in the evening, I got to thinking “when should we as developers celebrate.”
We here at Frye / Wiles work in a war zone.
Or at least it seems that way sometimes.
Where we are, Riverside CA, and practically all of the Inland Empire, is all but completely engulfed in dirt, dust, rock pebbles, and other remnants of roadside construction. And it never ends. On every major freeway around here, there are freeway road expansions, on-ramp rebuilding, road re-paving, dirt digging and a multitude of other ‘improvements’ being worked on.
It’s been this way for years now. Years of traffic jams, car dents and paint scratches…all stemming from scattered heavy machinery debris caused by vast, unending construction. (more…)
This is Rob’s post. It won’t be here for long, so savor it while it lasts.
So this is our first blogging endeavor. It won’t be the best one, but it is the first one, so that counts for something, right? Anyway, depending on how you arrived at this blog, let me spend some time explaining what it is that we do here at Frye / Wiles. You know what…nevermind, just read the ‘about us’ section on our main web page. It essentially states that we provide graphic design / web design / web e-commerce applications for those interested. That should about cover it.
It’s taken us a while to get this mega rad company website up but its not for a lack of trying. I mean, its summer time and we’ve naturally spent all our days at the beach, basking in the soothing UV rays of the sun. *Sigh*, I wish. (more…)
