Do you like change? I know I do! And on that note we just did an upgrade to the Frye / Wiles site. The sections that were overhauled were the Product and Services sections of the site. Vibrant, clean and color coded is what we were going for. We all felt the Frye / Wiles site was looking a little on the dark side and muted in color. With this new lighter look, the colors on the white background pops and grabs the attention of the viewer. It’s definitely a nice change.
One of the main reasons for the update is that we wanted to define a color with a certain section of the site. The colors will help the viewer become associated with what part of the site they are on. If you were to go to the main site we now have our portfolio, products, and services section defined by a certain color. More changes to the other remaining sections should be in development soon.
Another reason for the change was the usability factor. Before we had less content, but as our site began to grow, it was obvious that the light grey text on dark grey background had to go. It was becoming difficult to read and our intention was to never make people go blind. Now with the dark gray text on white background, reading is less a chore and is more user friendly.
Last and final reason was to bring continuity to our recently updated home page and portfolio section. IMO, the site is starting to all tie together, but each section still stands out enough to make it unique.
