Michael Martinez writes about the same thing, I highly recommend reading his post before you begin working on your site.
Nate touched on this issue a few posts ago. If you’re spending thousands of dollars on a website, please put something in it! If you don’t, the site will lay flat and lifeless. This is part of content enrichment, which I’ll make sure and post about some other time.
If you are even considering building a website, start thinking about the content now. Start writing as soon as possible, as its easier for us as developers and SEO’s to weed through your content, then to generate it for you, which would cost both more time and money.
