If you haven’t heard already, SIGGRAPH 2008 kicks off next month. It’s the International Conference and Exhibition on Computer Graphics and Interactive Techniques. It’s an event that not only includes talks, demos, screenings, classes, and panels, but also a Computer Animation Festival featuring animated shorts and behind the scene looks at techniques in recent blockbusters such as Ironman.
There are also awards ceremonies, and SIGGRAPH’s sponsors include Sony Imageworks, Houdini, Disney, ILM, and Dreamworks SKG. Exhibitors include: Activision, Autodesk, BOXX, Blue Sky, Lucasfilm, NVIDIA, Pixar, and Softimage (among others). In the past I’ve heard nothing but amazing stories from attendees, so as you might imagine I can’t wait to get this digital party started. See you there!
