Being a small business in downtown Riverside has it’s up’s and downs. The up’s are pretty obvious; you’re close to just about everything and you have first hand knowledge about all the happenings within the community. One downside, at least for the purpose of this blog post, is the constant and persistent interruptions of your business by solicitors. The Frye / Wiles headquarters is located on the second floor of a very old building with no elevator. We have a very clear ‘NO SOLICITATION’ sign on the main office door.
Yet, rampant solicitation of our office is still a problem. Noting deters these people. We could set bear traps and trip wire around the place and a few of them would still manage to finagle their way to the front door. No, we’re not interested in your 50% off gym membership. No, we’d rather not look into your low low insurance rates or get involved with your crazy pyramid scheme. Does this degree of unwanted intrusion happen outside of downtown as well or are we just the lucky ones? Maybe we could rig a trap door to spring as they approach. Nah, much too elaborate.
In any case, if there is some kind of solicitor repellent spray to help with this annoyance, let me know.
